Yoga + Body Psychotherapy

Your body speaks your mind.
It's lovingly said that your issues are in your tissues. Our body is an unbelievable resource in our healing journey.
Emotions are energy in motion and regretfully most of us suppress and repress - we do all that we can to keep it all in, shove it all down and power through. Does this sound familiar? This energy needs to go somewhere, so it gets stored in the body.
Have you ever unexpectedly become overwhelmed with emotion for no apparent reason? Felt a certain way and not been able to explain it? Have you ever taken a yoga class or started something new physically and had an emotional release, or felt overcome with "unfamiliar" emotion or "unexplainable'" emotion. Movement is good! Movement allows us to work through all that is stored in our body.
Emotions don't necessarily need to be labelled or understood, but they need to be felt - they need to be released. Most of us walk around with these invisible snowsuits of conscious and unconscious baggage. It's possible to release this extra weight, pain, stiffness, tightness, etc. However discomfort manifests in you.. it's possible to release this constriction and move into a place of freedom.
I can help you explore what's "holding" you. Perhaps we use yoga poses, guided meditation, creative visualizations, or body psychotherapy where we run through a series of maneuvers and see the body's responses. Intuitive Somatic Inquiry is another healing modality that we can use to dive into the wisdom of the body. There are a number of ways to use the body as an entry point into your healing path.
If you are interested in booking a body healing session, please feel free to email and I’m happy to connect with you about therapy options, as I offer a 15-minute complimentary consult call to see if we're a good fit and answer any questions you may have. I am a certified Yoga Instructor and often lead private yoga and meditation sessions for individuals and groups.
I am not a medical doctor, nor claim to take the place. I do not diagnose or prescribe. My work is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
